Since the pandemic, a significant amount of people are moving towards more remote work and learning, our virtual interactions have exponentially increased. Some people have seen this change as an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, to reinvent themselves, to start that side hustle or business. Before you start on this new venture here a few points to consider:

  • What product or service are you providing or are you the product you are putting out there?
  • Determine what your focus is. Who is your target market? What are your beliefs?
  • Choose a medium to convey your thoughts, be it photography, art, videos or writing.
  • Try to stick to one platform first. Be yourself and share your own personal experiences, people want to be able to relate to you.
  • Post often, but don’t overwhelm your audience.
  • Engage with your audience through network chats.

Taking a company like Apple who has an amazing marketing team, their practices surpass most because they give their customers a feeling of belonging to a community. Their launches make us feel involved, their ads are fun, simple, and cool. Reaching every demographic, they are relatable and they have us emotionally invested.

After joining the world of social media you also have to consider the millions you are reaching out to. Everyone has their opinion and want their voices to be heard. Not all you reach will have positive things to say about you. That’s where you accept such criticisms, push forward and hope instead that you’ve touched others in a positive and helpful way.

I’m Nenita Regidor, this is my first blog. I’m learning how to navigate the world of social media in this digital age to alleviate my ignorance and diversify my skills.

Be kind, I openly invite feedback, thanks for reading.
